Steven studied Natural History Illustration at Art College before moving onto Print Design for Textiles and Surface Pattern Design. Attracted by the scale, colour, repetitive pattern and end use application combined with an interest in Art & Crafts decoration.

He sometimes brings illustrative drawn elements into his work, particularly with plants and nature.

Having worked for several Fashion & Interior Print Studios and Design Consultancies.  Creating designs for markets in USA, Europe and Far East.

He has worked as a homewares designer for High Street Retailers.

Designing patterns on everything from Dinnerware, Bedding, Carpets and Wallcoverings.

A visiting lecturer for Visual Studies and Surface Design at Colleges and Universities.

Enjoys painting and experimenting with mixed media and accidental techniques to develop ideas towards his next painting or surface pattern design.

Often using digital software, when it comes to creating repeat patterns.
