I am a printmaker, and I mostly make linocut prints using the ‘reduction’ method. My work comes from walking in landscapes, and seeing which particular places call me to make an image. I then try to capture the essential elements of what gives a place its special atmosphere.
I use preliminary drawings, and then ‘distil’ these down to simple but evocative shapes and compositions.
