Isabelle Hayman is a French artist based in London.
Her work is rooted into an intensive drawing practice across different mediums. She explores simultaneously two different avenues, one historical nourished by her curiosity of decorative arts and the second focusing on female portraits.
In the series of botanical drawings each element of the composition is thoughtfully chosen through researches. Isabelle playfully associates objects from different eras and styles mixed with surrealist elements such as eyes and hand to create a maximalist collector's utopia.
Her recent series of paintings explores the representation of female subjects, stylised caught in dynamic stance adorned with jewellery and accessories, using stereotypical elements of feminine attributes in a confident and humorous manner.
