Gabriela Larios is a London-based Salvadoran artist whose vibrant illustrations reflect a deep love of children’s books, textiles, folk art, and nature. She earned her Master’s from Camberwell College of Arts in 2007 with the support of an Alban Scholarship. Her poetic and playful style is rooted in memories of her childhood in El Salvador and inspired by marine life and the natural world.Gabriela sees the world with a poetic eye, and a playful, naïve spirit runs through her work, which is richly informed by memories of her childhood in El Salvador—where tortoises, fish, birds, plants, and colorful creatures continue to inspire her creative world. The ocean and marine life have also long been central to Gabriela’s practice, shaped by her experiences growing up in a tropical country. Her affection for the sea is evident across a body of work that celebrates its beauty, wonder, and biodiversity. She strongly believes in the power of art—especially now, more than ever—as our oceans and the natural world face growing threats. Through her work, she seeks to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and its essential role in sustaining life.

Gabriela’s work has received multiple international recognitions by 3x3 Magazine, Society of Illustrators NYC, Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Northern Lights, VIA Art Prize to name a few.
