Elaine's journey as an artist began whilst still working as a Speech and Language Therapist in the NHS, and continued through summer schools and weekend courses. She completed the online diploma in Art and Design from West Dean College during the pandemic.
Until recently she felt compelled to attempt to record the beauty of nature and do figurative portraits. Some of these were exhibited at the Mall Galleries, Bankside Gallery and another published in Portraits for NHS Heroes. World events led to a shift and need to focus on colour and move towards abstraction.
Since 2024 she has been running workshops under the tag Make a Mark, encouraging creativity in the community, believing everyone is creative and has unique artistic talent.
