Bettina Paterson is an artist, designer and children’s book illustrator. In her fine art practise she works with oils, tempera gouache and pastels, with a special interest in incorporating metallics. Her subject matter is very much inspired by the natural world, mythological narratives and music. Bettina is also selling a range of limited edition cushions with textiles based on painted designs, together with her daughter Aurelia Bennett.

Bettina graduated from Oxford Brooks University with a degree in Visual Studies and Art History. She followed this with a post graduate diploma in illustration at St Martins College of Art, London. After graduating, Bettina designed cards and posters for the Design Group and then went on to design picture books. She has illustrated over 50 children’s books which have been published in the USA, South America and throughout Europe.
