Amanda is a painter of semi- abstract ‘external and internal’ landscapes.
She strives to create a mood of silent drama; evoking feelings of calm and sometimes pathos yet also portraying joy and beauty.
Amanda works primarily with water-based media such as acrylics and inks, often combining them with oil pastels and charcoal to add depth and texture. This versatility allows her to create dynamic, layered pieces that reflect the complexity of her emotional responses to memories of her travels and experiences.
Amanda trained at Leeds Polytechnic in the 1980s, where she earned a Fine Art BA Hons degree. Over the years, her art practice has been diverse, spanning printmaking, papier mâché, surface pattern design, and painting. She has exhibited in galleries and been featured in interior design magazines and Sunday supplements.
Currently, Amanda’s shows and sells her work to private clients and galleries, both in the UK and internationally.
